Summary
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs safe patient handling including patient transfer, ambulation, mobility and patient care working independently, as part of a pair, and/or part of a team with nursing and therapy staff. Safe patient handling will include utilization of mechanical equipment to accomplish high-risk transfers, as well as, associated equipment maintenance, inventory and accessibility. Performs assigned duties to include a variety of nonprofessional nursing duties in the direct care of patients on an inpatient setting under the direct supervision of an RN/LPN and/or therapy staff. Works to promote the culture of mobility with patients, patients’ families, and treatment team. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age-specific needs of the geriatric adult and adolescent patient.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NAI) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property. BCLS certification must be maintained.
